Gypsy Water

Gypsy Water is a celebration of freedom and a life lived on the move, close to the land. A bright burst of lemon, bergamot and juniper berry carries the feeling of setting out on an open road, with a flicker of pepper for energy. As it settles, pine needles and smoky incense bring to mind forest clearings and campfires at dusk, softened by a touch of iris.

Vanilla, sandalwood and amber leave a warm, gentle trail, like the last glow of embers under a night sky. Free-spirited and easy to wear, it moves from spring through to autumn, from slow weekends to the working day.

About The Nose

Jérôme Epinette is a French perfumer whose work reflects a lifelong fascination with complexity and character. A native of Burgundy, he grew up with a passion for winemaking that might have led him to become a sommelier, before perfumery drew him in. Over a long career at Robertet, he has created fragrances for houses ranging from L’Occitane en Provence to Atelier Cologne. His celebrated work includes many of Byredo’s signature scents, among them Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost, developed with founder Ben Gorham.

About The Brand

Byredo was founded in Stockholm in 2006 by Ben Gorham, whose Indian and Canadian heritage and background in art shaped the house’s distinctive point of view. Its name comes from “redolence”, meaning sweet smelling, and its fragrances translate memories, places and emotions into scent. Combining Scandinavian minimalism with evocative storytelling, the house is known for modern classics such as Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost and Bal d’Afrique.

Each fragrance is an authentic decant, transferred from the original bottle. Original bottles and packaging are not included.
