The Blazing Mr Sam
Penhaligon's
The Blazing Mr Sam is a warm, spicy, tobacco-led scent. Cardamom and cinnamon open it, and black pepper and saffron keep the spice dry and a little smoky.
Tobacco, vanilla and cedar settle underneath, softened by patchouli. It is part of the Portraits collection, and Penhaligon's presents it as a character piece about a loud, fast-living American abroad. It is best for autumn and winter.
About The Brand
Founded by Cornish barber William Penhaligon, the house began with a barbershop on London’s Jermyn Street, beside the aromatic Turkish baths. Their atmosphere inspired Hammam Bouquet, his first fragrance, created in 1872. Penhaligon’s later received royal recognition, including a Royal Warrant from Queen Alexandra in 1903, and a bespoke fragrance commission from the Duke of Marlborough. Today, it draws on British history, eccentric characters and traditional craftsmanship to create distinctive, story-led perfumes.
Each fragrance is an authentic decant, transferred from the original bottle. Original bottles and packaging are not included.
